Always having had a love for art, after leaving school, Sue went to Nelson and Colne College to study Art, English language and Domestic Science. She then started her own business with a pottery stall on Nelson Market which she ran successfully until proposed plans to pedestrianise the Market area convinced her to sell and move on to pastures new.
Sue then started her career with Great Universal Stores, a career that would last for more than 20 years. Starting as a part-time Sales Representative and working her way through to Team Leader, achieving Special Achievement Award and then on to Area Sales Manager, achieving Top Area in the Country Awards. Sue finally left Great Universal Stores in 2005 to work as a saleswoman in a local Art Gallery, which she loved being involved in as she loved art so much, leaving 18 months later to become involved with her husbands Engineering company. Sue, who’s hobbies include sewing and handicraft, as well as socialising, celebrated her Silver Wedding with her husband Bob in the summer of 2011.
They decided to leave the 24/7 stress of engineering in the North of England, to run a very successful Coffee Shop & Guest House in Gorran Haven, Cornwall, which incorporated their own Gallery. Here they both exhibited their own distinctive and very different styles of artwork drawn from their new surroundings.
Sue and Bob have now returned to live in the North of England to be close to their Grandchildren and now operate there own
